The 2014 NFPA-780 Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protection Systems is published. It has been integrated into all NLSI classes and into all NLSI site assessments.
The US Air Force Engineering Technical Letter (ETL 12-9) has named NLSI's advanced technical course "Lightning Protection for Engineers" as required training for USAF inspectors of critical munitions storage facilities.
The US Department of Defense bulletin UFC 3-575-01 has included NLSI's LPS Inspection & Certification Program for USAF projects where inspection and certification of Lightning Protection Systems is required. NLSI is the "commercial, third-party inspector whose sole work is lightning protection".
NLSI has performed lightning safety assessments for major mining companies in Tanzania, Ghana, Chile, Peru, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, USA, Indonesia, PapuaNew Guinea and Australia. Our attention to risk reduction is focused on (A) Personnel Safety and (B) Electric Power

NLSI’s latest book Lightning Protection for Critical Facilities is available at: www.amazon.com/shops/nlsi. With 12 chapters and 229 pages of text and illustrations, the book contains Codes-endorsed lightning defenses which are described in details not found elsewhere.
NLSI has completed a tenth assignment at Kennedy Space Center. Previous work was at Wallops Island, at Johnson Space Center (May and October 1997), Goddard Space Flight Center (August 2002), Wallops Island (April 2004 and February 2012), and Kennedy Space Center (September 1997, June 2005, December 2005 and February 2006).
